The most dangerous lie is one that contains some truth. Adam and Even knew the good but not the evil. By sinning, they came to know evil as well as good, but they come to know it not from the standpoint of God, but their knowledge of evil was experiential and painful. So painful that they took steps to deny it, to cover it up by flight and fig leaves.
