The first thing we need to do is repent of our worldliness and make a point of returning to our first love—Jesus Christ. It’s so easy to get caught up in the frantic pace of a worldly holiday. Christ gets taken out of Christmas, but this shouldn’t be so for Christians. In fact, this is the time we should be remembering to tell others why Jesus came to earth. It’s also a good time to renew our own commitment to Christ. If we do that now, before the hectic pace really kicks in, we’re less likely to lose sight of the real meaning of Christmas.
