Genesis 3:1-6
There were no restrictions on Adam and Eve except in the matter of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, of which they were not to eat. This symbolized the fact that, although the man and woman had maximum freedom and dominion in the earth, they were nevertheless God's creatures and enjoyed their freedom and exercised their dominion as a result of God's gift. The restraint was to remind them that they were not God and that they were responsible to Him.
