These chapters are versions of lectures originally delivered at the great Bible conference held each year at Keswick, England. Eight years after becoming the pastor of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Donald Barnhouse was invited for the first time to speak from the Keswick platform; and the following year, in 1936, he was invited to speak each afternoon for a full week of meetings. The messages given on that occasion were published in England under the title, God's Methods for Holy Living, but they were not published in America, although about five thousand copies were imported. Two years later, in 1938, the young pastor was invited to speak again. On this occasion, he produced a second series of lectures that was published both in England and America under the title, Life by the Son. This series went through several editions. At last both series were printed together under the original title, God's Methods for Holy Living, and it was sent literally around the world. Booklet PDF
