More Names of God Booklet

Author: Donald Grey Barnhouse

Dr. Barnhouse & the Bible

Of all the names of the Lord found in the whole of Scripture, perhaps the most familiar is that which occurs in the opening line of the 23rd Psalm, Jehovah-Rohi, “The Lord my Shepherd.” How many dying saints have pillowed their heads on that dear name and have found the Shepherd very near as they were gently moving toward the unknown gate. How many tiny children have learned to lisp that name almost as early as they have learned the name of mother. And it is the name which the Lord Jesus Christ took upon His own lips, boldly claiming it as a description of Himself, “I am the Good Shepherd, the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep” (John 10:11).
